Story
as a vet working in the charity sector I often treat animals belonging to owners with housing problems. Coping with the worry of not having a permanent roof over your head must be a very stressful situation, even more so if you also have children to care for.
For this reason I have decided to run this years London Marathon (26th April) to raise funds for the charity Shelter.
Training is going ok- running about 30-35 miles a week now (which allows for quite a few chocalate biscuits- not to mention beer as a good source of calories , though not immediately prior to running!) -no major injuries so far, despite the snow & ice- hopefully will be a bit warmer in April!
If you feel that you can sponsor me in running the marathon in aid Shelter then I am very grateful. Any amount of sponsorship is helpful & appreciated.
Thank you!
Damian
Update April 17th : just over a week to go & the legs are aching at the thought of it - rest of me feeling quite excited ! Time to taper down the training (apparently) & eat lots of pasta. Thank you to everyone for their messages of encourgement.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Shelter gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
