Story

Blackheath, London.  Saturday 6th July 2013 is when I will be doing this massive challenge! See here for more details

http://www.london2paris24.com/

It is for a charity I feel does a lot of good and supports people in a genuinely distressing situation where they can feel so alone, be left to one side and forgotten about by society.  Scope raises awareness of this by helping with support and offering advice to those who need it.  In turn it is something which will benefit my health both mentally and physically.

This is a personal challenge for me and some know of my story but for those who don't I've been told a little history of my 'issues' would help show why this is such a big physical and mental undertaking for me.  5 years ago I suffered a motorbike accident which left me with a head injury, collapsed lungs and badly broken arms and legs!  Aside from an arm with limited movement and issues with my leg I am largely back to full fitness thanks to the Walsgrave Hospital.  They rebuilt me and the physios told me to cycle to help my legs as my knee has been rebuilt and femur/tibia/fibia etc were broken so I do exactly that!  I  joined the Hinckley Cycling club to aid in that without pressure.  But if they say to do it for my health I will do it regardless - there are no ifs, buts or maybe's - only I will.  I will be cycling all 280miles in less than 24hrs!

I cycle for myself but if I am cycling for others (such as Scope and all the work it does!) and feel I can make a difference I will!
