On April 12th 2015, I will be taking part in the Brighton marathon. The Brighton marathon is now the second largest 26.2-miler in the UK with a course that winds through the city streets, finishing up on the Brighton seafront.

Why Samaritans?

I am doing this for Samaritans as I want to raise money for them to raise awareness and continue helping more people who are distressed and need support, ultimately reducing the number of people who decide they have no other choice than to take their own life.

Samaritans Vision is that fewer people die by suicide. They are there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and someone contacts them every 6 seconds. However, every single day, around 16 people decide to end their own life across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Samaritans know their service can help people before it's too late.

Samaritans rely on sponsorship money to operate and so I'd really appreciate if you can donate whatever you can for such a worthy cause. £10 will keep a branch open for 2 hours, £15 providing on going email support to 1 person and £20 lets them answer 5 calls, emails or texts.
