GREETINGS Welcome to my personal fund raising page for HOPE worldwide(www.hopeworldwide.org.uk). Please take a few minutes to read about the event I will complete and the great work that HOPE worldwide does everyday. THE EVENT Beginning 18th September 2008 our team of bicyclists will depart Land's End, the most southern point in the UK. On 1st October 2008, just fourteen shorts days after beginning, our team will arrive at John O'Groats, the northern most point in the UK. We will have cycled the entire length of England completing a grueling 1,000+ mile ride. We will be averaging a staggering 72 miles of cycling a day through whatever weather the unpredictable isle can throw at us.
THE CAUSE HOPE worldwide's vision is to bring hope and change the lives of the world's most poor, sick and suffering. HOPE worldwide is an international charity that changes lives by harnessing the compassion and commitment of dedicated staff and volunteers to deliver sustainable, high-impact, community-based services to the poor and needy. Together, we are a community in service to the most vulnerable people around the globe, working on an individual-to-individual, heart-to-heart basis, letting them know they have not been forgotten. The men and women of HOPE worldwide feel called to help the least fortunate among us just as Jesus did. Thousands of individuals and organizations have become our valued partners in this important work. We develop integrated solutions to the underlying problems of poverty on a non–sectarian basis by building partnerships, engaging local leaders, and leveraging available resources. The poor typically work hard but struggle to break a cycle of poverty that can span generations. Whether it's teaching new job skills, training teachers or improving access to health care, HOPE worldwide works with communities through Centers of HOPE worldwide to create sustainable solutions that go beyond addressing symptoms of distress.
