Our mission is to advance the education of and provide assistance to the 700 students from the University of California who come to the UK annually. We maintain and develop relations between British universities and UC and provide support for UC campuses with their international outreach activities.

My story

Please dig deep and sponsor Team UC online. We are running for the Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund. The team's target this year is to raise £10,000. This money will be used to establish a grant's program for British students from the University of East Anglia (UEA) to study at the University of California, and for students from UC to study at UEA.

"This money was a blessing”, stated a student from UC San Diego.

The University of California Trust (UK) created the Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund in April 2005 to provide grants for UC students wishing to undertake scholarly, creative and community projects as well as internships. Since it was started, the fund has awarded 60 grants to students from all the UC campuses. Typically we award small grants of between 75 and 100 to encourage students to undertake activities that might otherwise not be possible. The effect of these activities can be life-changing. Our vision is to help secure the future of the Education Abroad program in by ensuring that adequate financial support is available for UC students to study in .

“The grant from the University of California Trust was absolutely essential to the research I did”, a UC Santa Barbara student told us.

Allan Buch was a pillar of the UC community in and founded the Berkeley in alumni group in 1990. He was also a superlative member of our board. Tragicallly, Allan died of cancer in 2005. Our scholarship fund is dedicated to his memory. We are thrilled that Allan's daughters Alex and Olivia are members of our team. We hope that you will support them and us in our 10k run for the Buch Fund. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
