Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I did it! What a great day. It made me proud to be a Londoner and appreciate this great city on what was a glorious day in the capital. The support from the spectators was amazing all the way around the gruelling 26.2 miles. I crossed the line in 4hours 32 minutes which I am extremely happy with especially since it was a warm day and the course was crowded almost the whole way around! I started well, keeping to my average 9.5 minute miles but began to slow after mile 18 when fatigue set in. Nevertheless I didn't hit the infamous wall and didn't walk at any time, which I'm really proud of myself for!!
If you're tempted, I'd recommend anyone to do it once! Not sure I'll be doing another one anytime soon!
Thank you again to everyone who sponsored me and gave me the motivation I needed to complete the course.
I wanted to run for a childrens charity and one where I thought my sponsorship could make a real difference. Dreams Come True is a fantastic organisation that helps to brighten the lives of seriously and often terminally ill children by making their dreams come true, whether it be meeting their favourite celebrity, swimming with dolphins or simply riding on a steam train. A very worthy cause that brings a little joy to the lives of the children and families affected by serious disease, disability and mental illness.
So please sponsor me and give as generously as you can! I know these are tough times, but any donation you can spare will help Dreams enormously and will be greatly appreciated by them and me!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dreams Come True Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
THANK YOU!
DAN
