Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Every penny raised through this site will support the invaluable work of the West Scotland Deaf Childrens Society, which gives Casey, and other deaf children like her, fantastic support. The society has been hit hard by the recession. They were due to merge with the National Deaf Children's Society in August 2009, which would have meant receiving some financial assistance with their overheads. This merger has been postponed indefinitely due to the economic situation. At the same time, the lottery funding which the society used to receive has now ended. This means that they are totally reliant upon fundraising to cover the costs of what they do. The society organises fun days, Christmas parties, conferences for parents of deaf children, and a whole host of other activities. Sadly, these will have to be cut back unless funds can be raised from other sources.
As parents of a deaf child, we cannot emphasise enough how important the society is; we cannot let it fail.
