Story

UPDATE: http://www.dancingmango.com/blog/2014/04/12/thank-you-gutted/

Imagine suddenly finding yourself totally paralysed. Unable to move. Your nervous system eaten away by its own defence mechanisms. Imagine being on life support for months as your body slowly regains control. Imagine watching your mother, one day healthy, the next her only means of communicating with you is blinking her eyes. What do you do? Who do you turn to?  You learn from the doctors that she has Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). You google it and discover the charity GAIN who provide support to those struck by this rare, but debilitating condition.

This is my mothers story. In 2009 she fell ill with GBS. I was blessed to get a ballot place in the London Marathon. So many people have asked "which charity are you running for?" I can think of no better charity that I might have a personal connection with than this one. There's not much time, please be generous and sponsor me.

Thank you.

Marc
