In 2007 I had an accident at work and twisted my left knee badly. After three operations and being sidelined for nearly six months my knee started to feel as if it was recovering.
I was informed by my surgeon that I may not be able to return to full fitness, which made me think about goals which I had yet to achieve in my life, such as completing the London Marathon. Luckily my stubborn nature kicked in and I set about exercising my legs and during summer this year at last felt able to start training. I bought a treadmill and soon was running the streets a few times a week and discovered a had a true passion for the sport. I joined Wellingborough Running Club and began entering various races, and now I feel very positive and excited about running the London Marathon. I am running for Headway, a very worthy cause, and would really appreciate any money you feel you can donate.
