Being diagnosed with a terminal illness can turn your world upside down. We're here to help people make the most of the time they have left, and provide expert care so that they can die with dignity. Your donation today will help us to be here for people in East London when they need us.

Story

5 years ago my best friend’s mum Judith, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and 12 months later she tragically passed away. To mark 4 years since her passing, I am running the Hackney half marathon to raise money for St Joseph’s Hospice, a charity who helped make Judith’s last few months as comfortable as possible and allowed her to live a full and dignified life until her very last day.

St Joseph’s Hospice provides care to over 2000 seriously ill people each year across Hackney and 7 other London boroughs and provides support for their families and loved ones. At a time when the NHS is drastically underfunded, the care and support St Joseph’s Hospice provides is needed more than ever. To run these vital services St Joseph’s hospice has to raise £19,000 per day.

So myself and about 20 friends are all running the Hackney Half marathon on 20th May with an ambitious target of raising £1000 each for this wonderful chairty.

If you would like to donate, no matter how big or small, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t afford to donate I would still love your support by sharing this page and/or coming to cheer me on through the pain on the day itself!
