On October 12th 12500 people are going to run 13.1 miles around the parks of London. I'm going to be one of them. I'll be running it to raise money for a small Oxford Charity that does big work called People and Planet.
Marathon running and People & Planet.... hmmmmm. If I was the Head master of a school I think I'd start an school assembly like this: Marathons and People & Planet are kinda similar. They are both about empowering people to achieve things. Marathons are about personal goals and coming to the realisation that seemingly impossible personal goals are achievable while People & Planet work to build Global objectives through a global consciousness in young people to empower them with the belief that they can make a difference. Both are so so important in a person's personal journey.
So my personal journey is going to take me round this Half Marathon a couple of months after finally getting an operation on my foot to correct something that has stopped me running for two years..... oh boy.
