After my exploits at the Great North Run last year, where I made absolutely no impact on the records books, I've foolishly signed up to do the New York Marathon!

I'm going to be running for Shelter, which does wonderful work in improving the lives of homeless and badly housed people. Their work has become even more important in the current crisis.

Any contribution you are able to give will help push me through the marathon - I've got no idea how I'll manage to get round the course (I'll probably get lost), but I will!
