Daniel was diagnosed with Leukemia in August 2012 at just 19 months old. He started standard treatment straight away, but unfortunately just before Christmas he relapsed on treatment and is awaiting a bone marrow transplant in Bristol Childrens Hospital.
His treatment so far has meant long stays in Oxford John Radcliffe Childrens Hospital and in the near future will spend 6-8 weeks in Bristol Childrens hospital, both of which are an hour away from home.
CLIC Sargent have been a great support to us as a family. The main contribution to us has been through CLIC House, which is free luxurious accomodation close to the hospital which family and friends can use as and when required to give additional support to Daniel. Only 1 parent can stay will Daniel in the hospital, but CLIC house has meant that both of his parents can stay close to the hospital for free, reducing travel costs and stress associated with travelling 100 miles per day to and from the hospital. Similar accomodation exists in Bristol which means Phil and I can both be close to Daniel when he is poorly and in isolation while he has his transplant.
Please help us support this fantastic charity to ensure Daniel's family and his young friends at John Radcliffe continue to recieve this fantastic support from CLIC. It really does make a huge difference! Thank you! x
