5.4 million children across the world are currently trapped in orphanages – even though 80% of them have family they could live with if they had the right support. Orphanages harm children, depriving them of love and exposing them to abuse. Your support helps us get children to back to family.

Story

Hi

I'm running the London Marathon 2010 to raise money for Hope and Homes for Children.  They are a fantastic charity whose mission is "to give hope to the poorest children in the world - those who are orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable - by enabling them to grow up within the love of a family and the security of a home, so that they can fulfil their potential".  They are specialists in closing cold, heartless institutions, particularly in Eastern Europe, and moving the children from them into loving homes, a luxury we take for granted in the UK.

I am currently (Dec 2009) training 15-20 miles a week, and I'm slowly building up my mileage and distance of my long runs.

To follow my training progress please subscribe to my blog at http://danjordan007.blogspot.com/

Please donate to this wonderful cause and remember to Gift Aid your donation to get Alistair Darling and co to give a tax rebate to the charity.

Cheers

Dan
