Story
Hello:)
My name is Danielle, I'm 18 years old and live in Runcorn, Cheshire. I've recently finished at Sir John Deanes College in Northwich and am currently waiting on my A level results in German, History & Psychology.
On the 4th September I am moving to live and work at the Children's Sure House School in Kiwangala, Uganda, for a whole year with my partner Sophie. The school was set up in response to the AIDS epidemic in the area, which left many of the children orphaned. Whilst there I will be teaching both primary and secondary school students a variety of subjects from English through to History and German, depending on the need when I arrive. I'm also looking to become involved with the local church and helping to set up a Christian youth group, to give the youngsters a message of hope for the future.
We will be living amongst the local people in the local village without electricity, running water or even a toilet! However, we are willing to make this sacrifice in order to help the children of the village.
In order to get there, I have to raise £4660 in sponsorship money. I've currently got £315 left to go thanks to the help and donations of many people.
My past fund raising events have included:
- A moulin rouge party
- Several bag packs
- A Christmas Raffle
- A disney dress up day at work
Any donation or any support that you could offer me, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. After all, it's only with the help of others that I'll be able to make this dream a reality.
Keep checking back for more updates!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Project Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
