Reading Half Marathon 2012 · 1 April 2012 ·

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Dear All,

A long time ago I promised my dear old dad that one day, I would run a marathon. Now, for the eagle-eyed out there, you will have noticed that this is, in fact, a half marathon – not the “whole 9 yards” (or to be precise, 46,145 yrds) but I’m following the (very sensible!) advice of my boyfriend, James, on this one and “breaking it down”. It will still be the furthest I’ve ever run ... assuming of course I make it!

In the process, I hope to raise £500 for the hospice that took such fantastic care of my dad in his last few months. In truth, I can never repay the staff at the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed for their compassion and dedication in looking after my dad but I hope that, with your help, they can continue to provide the care and support that makes all the difference to their patients and, for those left behind, turns a desperately sad situation into a life affirming experience.

Please give whatever you can.

Sincere thanks,

Dani xx

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
