Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am running two races and trying to raise money for Moorfields Eye Hospital Development Fund in London, the staff of whom saved the eyesight of my sister when she was a few months old. The two races are the Great Yarmouth 10k race on the 26th October (I got round in 52 mins and came 231st out of 500 runners) and the Norwich Half Marathon on the 30th of November . Combined these races total just under 20 miles. My sister Ruth, who is now 22, was born with congenital glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition that usual affects people in later life. If it wasn't for the staff of Moorfields, and in particularly Mr Rice and Professor P.Khaw, Ruth would now be blind. Thankfully, following several innovative operations, she now only has limited visual impairment. The Moorfields Development Fund helps to finance leading-edge research into the major causes of blindness and enables the development of new treatments. It also helps to buy state-of-the-art equipment which improve facilities, for the comfort and benefit of patients, in ways that could not be achieved within the limits of normal NHS funding. Any sponsorship little or small would be helpful.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Moorfields Eye Hospital Development Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please- sponsor me now!
