Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Last year, I successfully (just) completed the Great Manchester & Great North Runs, in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation, raising around £500.00.
This year, some would say rather foolishly, I'm back for more.
In an attempt to raise £1000.00 for this very worthwhile cause, and a charity very close to mine & my families hearts, I have added the London Marathon to the list . Unfortunately, injury is preventing me doing the London Marathon this year, instead deferring my place to 2010.
So, I now have to complete :-
The Great Manchester Run (10k) on 17th May 2009,
The Great North Run on 20th September 2009 and
The London Marathon in April 2010.
To acheive all of this, I will have to complete somewhere close to a 1000 miles of training runs and races, between now and the end of April 2010, and in doing so, you never know, I might even loose some weight !!??
So, why am I doing all this.
Well, my son Matthew, contracted Meningitis at the age of 10 months, but we were one of the lucky ones, Matthew pulled through, and is now a strapping almost six year old.
But there's plenty out there who don't.
So please dig deep!!!!
