Hello! It's me! Danny!
And thank you for coming here. Because I think we should do something ace. For some people that really need it. Why? Because we can! And if we can, we should!
So, here's the thing... five years ago in January, I put an advert in the paper that simply said 'Join Me'. And people did. Slowly at first, but then in their hundreds... and with nothing for them to do, I decided to simply ask them to be nice. Every Friday. To a stranger.
Since then, the Karma Army has grown daily, with thousands upon thousands of people from all over the world signing up and promising to do a random act of kindness each and every week in the hope of making the world around them a nicer place. And it's worked.
So, to celebrate five years of global goodness, what could be better than doing something really good? Eh?
Now, a single classroom costs just five grand - complete with everything the kids will need to give their lives a massive boost. Five grand! That's nothing! We can do that! Surely!
And it's not just any old classroom - it'll be the most important classroom at The Gatumbiro Primary School, in Kenya, which, to be honest, is a fair old wreck... and each morning the pupils will see the plaque that lets them know what we did and that there are people who care. You and me!
Let's kickstart the campaign! And in the coming weeks, there'll be some fancy goods auctioned off on other sites, which will all go towards the five grand target for the kids of Gatumbiro (which is Swahili for 'please buy us some biros').
Hoorah!
Danny
PS. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to do things: International Care And Relief will receive your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Good, eh?
