Story
Hey all,
As some of you may know already, I am leaving the UK and going back home to Luxembourg after 12 years. As a way of saying goodbye I decided to do it in style and have one last adventure in the UK by walking home!
I still need to map the exact route, but I expect it be around 1200 miles. To make it a bit of a challenge, I will do the walk unsupported and carry everythign I need with me.
With a trip of this magnitude there is no way of predicting what will happen along the way and whether I will make it, but I am determined to give it my best. Feel free to add me on facebook where I am keeping sort of a blog if you want to see how I am getting on!
I want to dedicate this walk to my parents, without whose support I couldn't have come to the UK in the first place and as such have chosen to support Coeliac Uk. My mum has to deal with this life-changing autoimmune disease and I got to witness first hand what that means and the severe effects it can have.
Gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye triggers an immune reaction in people with coeliac disease. While it is hard enough adapting your lifestyle at home to this, simple things like enjoying a meal out can quickly become a nightmare when even in high-end restaurants a lot of chefs are unaware of the seriousness of this disease.
Please have a look at the Coeliac UK website for more info and thank you very much for your support!
