On the 5th July 2009, me (Dan), Alex, Farms (James), Beas (Anthony) and Pete are setting off to climb the 3 peaks of Scotland, England and Wales. We will be attempting to climb Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m). The trick is, we hope to do it within a 24 hr period. We will start late in the afternoon of the Sunday and aim to complete it by the same time the following day, the Monday. This is going to involve a lot of walking and driving and not a huge amount of sleep. It is certainly not going to be easy, especially for a group who do not have a lot of experience of hill walking. What we can promise is determination and commitment.
We have chosen Home-Start UK as a charity to raise money for as it is a charity which really makes a differnece to local people, offering them real help and support at times when they most need it. Amy (Dan's wife) works with the charity through her job as a Health Visitor on the Wirral, which will benefit from the money and is only too aware of the difference this charity makes to families. The help is financial and practical.
