Dan Whitehead's Marathon Fundraising!

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
Hi everyone and thank you for checking out my London Marathon 2019 page! Just to give you an idea on how it all begin for me...
Although I have had a few attempts at taking up running, it wasn't until early 2018 when I took it up again but really started to enjoy the process. What started as some small runs through my local woods (and plenty of stops!) soon progressed onto 2 miles, then 3 miles, then 10k, etc. I really felt like i had found a new passion but as quickly as I began to make progress, injury struck and meant i needed to rest for 6-8 weeks.
During this time is when I saw an email at work; Be part of the FedEx/TNT London Marathon team 2019. I didn't think twice! As soon as I saw it I knew I had to take part. Although I was still injured, never ran a race before in my life let alone a Marathon, i knew this was going to be an experience of a lifetime and something I could achieve if I put my mind and heart into it.
And of course, I will be raising money for the Wooden Spoon, which is such a worthwhile charity. Not only do I get to tick off a huge achievement, I will know that all the money raised will go to support children who need extra support in their life.
Please help support me by donating and also follow me on this page as I document my progress along the way. I have a few things I would like to do over the next few months as well that will help contribute to raising my fundraising goal.
Thank you

These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help. Our vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities. ***
