Like many other people, I lost one of the greatest influences in my life when my Grandfather, Tony Howell, passed away after an all too short battle with Cancer. Through an absolutely terrible time in my life and those around me, St Elizabeth Hospice provided great care to Tony and were fantastic in helping us spend his last few weeks together as a family.
It's taken me a great deal of time to arrange a suitable event, which is why I have set my fundraising target high. St Elizabeth Hospice deserve a big thank you for everything they did back then and continue to do for many other families now. Even more than that, my Grandad deserves to be the big part of my life, now he's gone, that he always was when he was here.
Tony was the local bank manager for NatWest in Manningtree for many years, before becoming the Secretary at Purdis Heath Golf Club. During his life he became friends with, and indeed helped, many people but even for those of you who never knew Tony, this is a great cause and a really excellent Hospice.
It is for these reasons that I really hope you will be able to make a donation, however large or small, to assist St Elizabeth Hospice continue the great work they do.
