Story
As General Lord Kitchener famously said “We Need You!”
Myself and 11 other adventurous fools shall be setting off from Portsmouth on 2 June 2006 and cycling from Caen, to Zurich, , a trip of around 580 miles in aid of the Zurich Community Trust.
Once on the sunny shores of France the team will cycle around 85 miles a day for 7 days, no mean feat! We will be travelling across to Strasbourg, up the Rhine Valley and into Switzerland arriving in Zurich on Friday 9 June.
I have been a mad keen cyclist since I first threw off the stabilisers as a young boy! I have ridden a few charity rides including a Century ride (100 miles). I am thoroughly looking forward to the challenge which whilst gruelling should also be fun.
This is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for the Trust who supports a whole range of charities and helps people in our local communities live a more independent life. It also has many longer term community partnerships with a diverse range of national, international and local charities including Child Line, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, James Hopkins Trust, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Meningitis Trust.
Many Zurich colleagues have already kindly sponsored me and I am very grateful to you. If you feel that you would like to sponsor me it couldn’t be simpler.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Zurich Community Trust (UK) Ltd will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
For every £1 of sponsorship we raise Zurich will add another 50p.
I would be grateful for your support.
