Adidas Half Marathon at Silverstone · 7 February 2006

The purpose of the Kenya Project Partnership is to improve Secondary School Education for children in rural Kenya. Working in direct partnership with schools, they provide textbooks and science equipment. Resource investment is supported by holistic programmes, which include an HIV/AIDS education, a Girls Education programme, and improving post-educational opportunities.

Story

Hi everyone! Thanks for bothering to visit this fund-raising page. As you all may know, I'll be going to Kisii in Kenya for 10 weeks in the summer as a project worker with the Kenya Project Partnership, where I will work with a secondary school with the goal of helping the sustainable development of education in Kenya.

Kenya suffers from gross inequality in incomes, and school children outside the major cities do not have access to basic necessities such as textbooks and healthy meals. I'll be running the Adidas Half Marathon at Silverstone, and I hope that you will sponsor my run as all funds raised will go towards the improvement of the quality of life for youths in rural Kenya. I've been training really hard for the half marathon, so I surely won't disappoint you!

I know that I cannot do much to help the general plight of these children, who face extreme poverty. However, I do know how vital education is to the development of a poor country. Hopefully, through our giving, you and I can make a small but yet no less insignificant impression on these young lives.

Please give generously, every little bit counts. Thank you!
