Bupa Great North Run 2011 · 18 September 2011 ·

At YBTC, we walk beside anyone impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis through every step of their journey. Our local support brings comfort, care, and hope to families across Yorkshire- while our local research and investment in 'pump priming' brings us closer to kinder treatments and a cure.

Story

This year i will be running the Great North Run for the 3rd time. I will be running for a charity called Andrea's Gift which is a Yorkshire based brain tumour charity , founded in 2003 in memory of Bradford lady Andrea Key, who died aged 42 , after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. The charity vision and focus is to create a carer and patient support network across Yorkshire and to improve the prognosis for patients diagnosed with a brain tumour through long term research. This charity is very close to my heart as my friend Ian Meek has lived with a brain tumour for 15 years and has had 3 major brain surgeries. Ian is an amazing man and in 2009 he began training for the 3 peaks challenge and also a 10k run and does everything he can to raise money for this charity.
In june of 2010 he climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours and this year is doin a 200 mile bike ride from Bristol to Bradford in 24 hours. This has to be an insperation to everyone and i hope you will all sponsor me and help raise as much as possible for this great charity. I will be setting up a just giving account and details will be posted on here ASAP.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
