Story

Am I mad running 30 miles a day for six consecutive days?

Well thats about the size of the task that is in front of me as I prepare to take my place in a team of six runners that have got together to run a non-stop relay from John O Groats to Lands End. It does sound like a herculian task but it is equally matched by the worthiness of the cause that inspired us. The charity that I am running for is C.W.U.H.A http://www.cwuha.org/ .The charity does a fantastic job helping out needy and vulnerable children both overseas and here in the UK.

A little bit about myself, I am 47 years old and took up running while having a break from my rugby career, I hope to resume the rugby when I'm 50. I have two children, Kirsty and Adam, the latter will be joining us on the challenge as part of the support crew. Running is the way I keep on top of my weight and I am a member of the frendliest athletic club in England, Chorley AC. This challenge frightens the life out of me but somehow, whether running or crawling, I hope to be there at the end ready to sink a few cold ones.

We hope to set up a blog, facebook group and a twitter page so you can follow our exploits as they happen. The Run starts at first light on the 18th of May and we expect to finish around the 24th of May after 6 days of non stop running. Please support this wonderful charity and make the pain that I will be feeling much more bearable.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you so much

Dave
