**** UPDATE ****  When initial contact was made with Nowzad dogs there was a slight mix up on the costs, the initial amount needed to begin the rescue process is the £2,500 stated on setting up the donation page.  The total amount needed for Dave is actually about £4,000, this difference is mainly the cost of quarantine in London (£300 a month)

Two very generous supporters of Dave the puppy have been matching the daily donations by 10% each, this will be up until the original stated donation target of £2,500.

Sorry for the mix up, but thank you so much for your support so far, without your help these rescues would not be possible.

Dave, a beautiful Afghan pup needs our help, he's been rescued by Alex Mutch of 40 Commando, Royal Marines, based in Taunton Somerset. Currently serving in the Sangin District, Afghanistan.

Dave had a horrific start to life, in Alex's words "I saw the pup being teased by a group of locals it was terrified they were teasing it and hurting it. I managed to get it off them, by trading them a packet of mini flares.
He is now is now like one of us, we take good care
of him. When I first got Dave he would bite and hide behind bits of wood, after just two days he was happy running around and wagging his tail. We have named him Dave after one of our mates that was killed, he is only about 2 months old and his ears have been cut off. Unfortanatlly I leave in September and would like Dave to come with me back to the UK."
