In July 2009, David went to bed as a happy and healthy 21 year old and we were unable to wake him the following morning. Despite the superb efforts of the local hospital, it was clear that his heart had inexplicably failed during his sleep.
Thank you to all friends and family who donated to CRY at the time of his death. Those funds have been been used by CRY to support its core activities.
To mark the 3rd Anniversary of David's death we are organising a Cardiac Screening Event. CRY organises these screenings for anyone aged 14 to 35 years old. Sometimes an individual may have a cardiac abnormality without having any symptons. Screening with an ECG is aimed at identifying people with conditions such as cardiomyopathies or electical faults of the heart. Such screening is quick and painless and could help avoid another tragic loss of life.
We need to raise £3500 to fund the screening of 100 people. If we raise more, it will go towards another screening event in the future.
Thanks for your support,
Lisa, Phil, Leah and Hannah
