One sunny day last April Dave had a bright idea. ‘Shall we do the marathon next year?’ he emailed Laura at work, who replied, jokingly, ‘Yes – why not!’

And here we are, nine months later, a few hundred (in Dave’s case) or tens (in Laura’s case) of miles run, a few near death experiences / half marathons (whichever your prefer) under our belts, ready to face the biggest challenge either of us has faced before – to run the London marathon.

Laura could kill Dave for getting her into this!!!!

However, we are both really determined to do it and do it well, and we are running for the Rose Road Association which is a really worthwhile charity based in Southampton committed to making the lives of disabled children and their families easier. The work they do there is incredible and never fails to amaze us having attended several of their events.

You know what’s coming…..
