It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

In September I lost a good friend and colleague, John Blackford, to Pancreatic Cancer.  I decided to run in the Norwich Half Marathon to raise some money for Pancreatic Cancer UK to help fight this terrible illness.  Pancreatic Cancer UK provides help for those with the disease, and provides funding for research into prevention and cure.

The big event was on December 2nd, and everything went well on the day.  I completed the 13.1 miles in 2 hours, 5 min and 17 seconds.  The organisers arranged some interesting weather for the day, with a mixture of heavy showers and gale force winds!  No doubt my low centre of gravity and streamlined head helped me through on the day, and I'm sure John would have had a great laugh watching a soggy, windswept colleague slogging through the mud - no doubt offering some choice words of encouragement ;-)

So many thanks to everyone who sponsored me, and helped me exceed my fundraising target of £500.  The money raised will help Pancreatic Cancer UK to continue with their excellent work.  If you haven't already sponsored me it's not too late, and every little helps.

So farewell John.  You will be missed but never forgotten by your friends and colleagues at BT.
