I am delighted to be running for Smile International, a local charity based in Orpington, who do tremendous work.   You may have heard of this charity and their distribution of shoeboxes full of gifts at Christmas to children in Kosova and other countries where there is suffering and poverty.   If you would like to find out more about them and their many worldwide projects, visit: www.smileinternational.org

All monies raised will be going to their new Home Hospice project in Kosova.

Over the past 9 years since Smile has been working in Kosova, it has come across a number of cases where adults and children have died of cancer without any or very little pain relief. Smile is working towards setting up a Home Hospice project from their Smile Centre, under the supervision of local doctors, and employing Smile nurses who will care for those in the home and administer pain relief, so that those with a life-threatening illness can die with dignity and in comfort.
