Early in 2007 Julie and I discovered we were about to have a Baby! The most exciting news we could have hoped for.

Everything was going smoothly, morning sickness, a packet of biscuits a day, right up until our routine 12 week scan.

It was this day, that we were told that our unborn baby was faced with possible anomalies such as Downs Syndrome, major heart disease and many more. We were given no advice or support, and left to make our own difficult decisions with no guidance when we needed it most.

The Hospital tried to push us into invasive tests, risking miscarriage, with no alternative explanation or reasons of the ultrasound result. We decided as a family not to have these tests, much to the disbelief of the hospital.

Our daughter, Abi-Leigh, was born on 5 October 2007, a perfectly healthly happy little girl.

I want to raise awareness of my chosen charity ARC, who give the support and advice we missed out on. They do a magnificent job, helping parents in the same position we were in, and give them advice and support to help them through the difficult times they face.
