Story

Thanks for visiting my web page.

We all read in the papers and have seen the pictures on television of our Servicemen & Women who are risking their lives in conflicts on a day to day basis. What we don't always see are the injured and the enormous personal sacrifice some of these people are making.

After my son, a serving Royal Marine with 45 Commando was injured on New Years Eve 2008 I got to witness first hand the help and support these lads get at both Selly Oak and Headley Court and the difference Help for Heroes make to these guys who in some cases who have Lost Legs, Lost Arms, Lost both, Lost Sight and Hearing.

To see the positive attitude and determination to deal with life changing injuries by guys so young, moved me so much I needed to get off my middle aged backside and do something positive to support the supporters!

So here I am, signed up to sacrifice my nether regions on the 2010 H4H Big Battlefield Bike Ride, that's a whole 350 miles of personal struggle seeing the last time I rode a bike it could have been a Penny Farthing. But that is nothing when you see I will be riding along side guys who have lost arms and legs and in at least 2 cases their sight.

I am going to do it! That's not in doubt. I have to do it for these guys. What is the really scary bit is I need support in raising all the money I can and I need your help and lots of it!

My family and I have shed a lot of tears over the last year but now is the time to stop all that and show I can do something positive to help.

I AM PREPARED TO WEAR LYCRA IN PUBLIC SO
