Dear all,

The time has finally come!!

After fracturing my skull back in 2003, I'm finally working on an injury and illness free year and going for that run that I have planned to do ever since. For those of you that know me well, you will have seen that my life hasn't been short of challenges throughout the last few years but I am still here and still eager to achieve my goal; running the ridiculously long distance covered in the Virgin London Marathon 2010.

Leaving me completely deaf in one ear whilst re-learning to walk, my mountain bike accident challenged my life in more ways than one can realise. I can sympathise with anyone who lives under similar or worse degrees of deafness and have therefore chosen to complete my challenge whilst raising funds for National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS). It is an honour to be able to do so much good whilst carrying out such a great achievement.

I have created this page in hope that all my friends and family will join me in my quest to raise my target of £2,500 for these much deserving children. I understand that economic times are hard but I will be eternally grateful for all donations made and urge you to go to your friends, families and work places and do a whip round on the charity's behalf in order to raise as much as possible. A few pounds from a number of people added to your contributions really does start to add up!! Please dig deep and don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box to get the government to give us some more!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Donating through JustGiving is easy, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks from me and the children,

Dave Cox
