First test ride on new wheels before France...Thankyou Mr Pollard :)
In 2003, me and a mate did a challenge to cycle up Mont Ventoux in France three times in one day, supported by my friend Dave Baguley. Sadly in 2010 Dave passed away. Since his death, his wife Maggie has been raising money for The Brittle Bone Society, a genetic disorder which runs in Dave's family. In his memory, this August I am going to attempt the ultimate Ventoux Challenge...which is to ascend Mont Ventoux by the three routes to the top, twice over...in total six times! This involves 160 miles of cycling, and 9000 metres of climbing...the equivalent of cycling from Leeds to London, whilst climbing the height of Everest! To complete this ride, I will have to set off at 3am and aim to be finished sometime in the evening...when I hope to raise a glass of vin rouge in memory of my good pal.
