Story
Well folks,
As you can see from the photo on the left I am well into my training for the Royal Parks half marathon in London on the 12th October. 13 miles (21km) past all the famous london sights most of which will be blurred through the tears of pain I am sure.
Judging by the summer we've had, I reckon I shall be running through torrential rain or more likely snow storms! My old worn out running shoes are giving me blisters too! Anyway if that doesn't persuade you to donate by way of a sympathy vote, hopefully the following will instead:
I've decided to take the opportunity to raise money for a charity called Bookaid. I Love books, they're great, and we have shelves of the things at home - I'm sure Im not the only one who takes it for granted enjoying books, learning from them; in fact just being able to read them.
Building a well, buying some fishing nets, organising food aid are all fantastic things and very necessary, but providing the means and resources to teach people to read means they can start sorting things out for themselves. Book Aid International promotes literacy in developing countries(primarily in Africa) by creating reading and learning opportunities for disadvantaged people, in order to help them realise their potential and eradicate poverty.more details
