Hi, thanks for visiting my page.  I am raising money for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home by participating in the Night Rider London 100km (62 mile) bicycle ride.

Animal Rescue centres are the ideal place to find your new pet.  At any one time, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home are caring for around 400 dogs and 250 cats across their three sites (Battersea, Old Windsor and Brands Hatch).  One of the best things I've done, along with my wife is adopt a rescue cat, and I believe giving him a second chance has made him (and us) extremely happy, and whilst we can't offer a home for any more right now, I can help by raising funds to pay for their care in the centre.

Why have I chosen Night Rider London?  Well, I enjoy cycling, but in the last three years, health problems have negatively effected my quality of life, and at one stage I struggled to walk half a mile and back to the shops.  Under my current treatment however, I'm doing well, and 100km is well within my grasp, I have ridden further before, but I will need to train hard for this.  I started in January on a week off work with doing 120 miles over 3 rides in a week, but I will be upping the distance on single rides and will do some night time short (25 mile) rides to acclimatise myself to the night time conditions nearer the event.

Please sponsor me straight away, I'm signed up for the event, but I need to have raise a minimum of £200 to participate, so help me achieve this early which will help to motivate me on training rides in the wind and the rain.

Just Giving will claim gift aid on behalf of Battersea where the donor is a UK tax payer, therefore eligible for this and the costs are met with that, this means your entire donation (and a bit more) goes to Battersea!

£10 buys a blanket for a dog or cat for them to stay warm.

£15 pays for a microchip, so once the animal is homed, it can be reunited with their owner if it goes missing.

£24 Is the average cost of looking after a dog for one day.
