Story

On January 7th 2011 our son Eliot had a seizure. He was rushed to Kettering Hospital where he was diagnosed with a very rare brain abscess.

He needed urgent brain surgery to drain the abscess and was transferred to Oxford Childrens Hospital where he underwent a number of life saving operations.

Eliot stayed on the ward for a around 5 weeks where he was nursed back to health. 5 months on and all though he hasn't yet made a full recovery he is doing well.

We owe so much to the Surgeons, Doctors, Nurses and all the other hospital staff on Robins Ward at Oxford Childrens Hospital.

On 31st of July 2011 I am attempting the Ironman UK Triathlon in Bolton. This involves a 2.4 mile open water swim followed by a 112 mile road cycle and finishing off with a 26.2 mile marathon run.

I would like to raise as much money as possible to give something back to Robins ward. Not only did they save Eliot's life, but they save childrens lives every day. They do an amazing job and are a credit to the NHS.

Please dig deep and donate as much as you can to help me reach my target of £1000. This money will go directly towards buying new equipment for the ward.

Thank you very much

Dave
