Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Update 26/2/2010:  Thank you all so much for your donations.  As most of you will know, Jenny very sadly passed away on 11/2/2010 in my arms at the Winterbourne Care Centre.  I don't know how I found the strength to swim the day after the funeral on the 24th.  I swam for an hour and did 120 lengths in Jenny's name in order to give something back to the Salisbury Hospice.

Thank you all hugely for your love and support during this very sad time.

I am doing a sponsored swim on 24/2/2010 in aid of the Salisbury Hospicecare.  Jenny (my wife) who is terminally ill has been in and out the Hospice over the last year and I would like to give something back to them for their excellent care.

12 of us are swimming an hour each (we should achieve 2000 metres minimum, per person) at Parkwood swimming Pool, Salisbury, in order to raise monies for our causes.  Sarah Hankins at Parkwood has organised the whole event and is also incorporating a 12 hour rowing session as well as swimming. That means we will have 24 people raising money for the Hospice! Friends Provident (my employer) will match whatever I personally make (up to £500) so I am hoping for something reasonable to contribute myself!

Please, please sponsor me so I can raise as much as possible!

Thank you so much,

David.

About the charity

The hospice costs £2.9 million to run, with Salisbury Hospice Charity aiming to raise £1.5 million of the funding required. Over 1,000 people a year are helped both in the hospice and in the wider community. Without your help this could not have been achieved. Thank you.
