Story

So Tom and David are getting on their bikes to cover the 1000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats! Cycling, camping, we’ll make our way through Cornwall and Devon, see friends in Bristol, drop into Wales, through the Lake District on our way to Bolton then off into Scotland. We are doing this unsupported, carrying our tents and all equipment and a vague route that we’ll figure out as we go along.

We’ve decided to dedicate the ride to SolarAid who work on two of the most pressing issues facing us today - poverty and climate change. We’ve signed up to their Hot 100 challenge to raise £1000 in support of their work so please help us support them and reach our fundraising target!

Hear what the great people at SolarAid have to say about their wonderful work!

SolarAid is a small charity making a big difference. It fights poverty and climate change together with solar power. Barely 2% of rural Africa has access to the grid yet many regions of Africa have the highest levels of sunshine in the world. SolarAid’s approach is simple and affective; working with remote and disadvantaged communities, helping them tap into an abundant source of free, clean and renewable energy - the sun!

SolarAid’s work involves installing solar systems on schools, clinics and community centres in South and Eastern Africa. They also help people to set up businesses, offering sales and marketing training and enabling them to use solar energy as a means of generating a sustainable income.

Also please make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on your donation to make the most of your support!

Big thanks!

Tom and David
