Thank you for thinking about giving towards this as our wedding gift! We're really excited!

The project we're supporting aims to create a reliable and constantly available food supply for 200 of the most impoverished families in four communities in Inhassoro district in Mozambique, and to promote environmentally sustainable agricultural practices whilst strengthening knowledge and skills.

We've chosen this project because it combines several things we really care about: not only will it provide for some of the most vulnerable households in the area on a long-lasting basis, it will do so through a project picked by the local church, delivered through local partners, and one which helps the environment too.

In case you want some idea of scale, it costs about £330 per household; obviously we're not expecting people to give that much individually, but we are hoping that collectively your gifts will add up to helping a few households besides our own new one as we get married.

The project involves training in agriculture, nutrition and relevant environmental issues and provision of materials such as seed and tools, and lasts for three years. There is a particular focus on the most vulnerable households, particularly those headed by a woman or child and with low literacy and agricultural knowledge.

If you want to know anything more about this project, just ask us.

As ever with these kinds of project, it's just possible that the project won't raise enough money to go ahead or will run into some other difficulties, in which case we hope you won't mind if we select another project with Tearfund to put your gift towards.

Thank you so much!

Anna and David
