Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Members of the team, Team Last Inn, have enjoyed this race for the last ten years and this year we are giving back something to the sport.  So please dig deep and help us raise as much as we can for RYA Sailability and help others have the opportunity to not only sail but enjoy such great races.

Follow our progress on threepeaksyachtrace.co.uk and via satellite trackers, when they don't show us on the car park of a hotel in Barmouth for 5 days.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor our team: RYA Sailability gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!

Following a week of ideal sailing weather, guess what happened - the day we sail the boat from Menai it changed to cold and wet, typical Three Peaks weather.  Anyway, Dennis, the owner Steve and myself brought the boat into Barmouth harbour on Saturday ready for the race.  The RYA Sailability flags are flying from spreaders.  The team will be out there training hard, in the Last Inn.  Woops I mean we will have tactical meetings after training over the coming weekends.

The Last Inn will be holding some musical Sailability fund raising evenings over the next few months

Many thanks to DP World of Southampton for your help and support

The boat had her bottom cleaned and anti-fouled last weekend and had visitors to Barmouth interested when it lay on its side by the harbour wall.  Of course it was done on purpose!!  Steve said he only went for a shower!!! A likely story.  This weekend, 6/7 June,  we will have a full team training session with Radio Wales on board to check out our progress and Sanoodi to set up the tracker and web page.

As you can see, sadly, we've lost Matt through injury and Simon joins us with a hope of finishing this time.  When we sailed as Team AF Switchgear we broke the forestay and cross trees in a f10 storm in the Irish Sea and had to retire.   Simon is a keen ultra-marathon runner, so should be easily capable of putting in a good time.

Many thanks to AF switchgear for their help and support through Sandra and Harry.

10th June

Two more weeks of glorious sunshine and guess what, we step on board and by the time we were approx half mile out Icelandic weather came from nowhere.  What a training day!  The forecast was max. 15 knot wind and we had 36 (F8 Beaufort).  Even a local fishing boat couldn't get back into the harbour.  Having lost the inflatable and outboard, we finally landed at 22:30 and, by the time everything was put away, we were just in time for a last pint and an Indian at a local hot-spot.

Radio Wales' Huw Jenkins was on board.  He was impressed and will be broadcasting a piece about the crew and race shortly.  Paul from Sanoodi.com came on board to set up the tracker ready for the race, it took all of ten minutes.  It would have been quicker but I'd forgotten my pass word and he had to produce another account.  You can read all about the adventure on: http://www.sanoodi.com/people/mistarurdd/  and http://blog.sanoodi.com/news/.
