Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prospects For People With Learning Disabilities gets your money faster  and if you're a UK tax payer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I am a Services Manager at Prospects, a charity that supports people with learning disabilities. I plan to run the Great North Run – incidentally set on Disability Sunday, 5th October – to support the work of Prospects in two ways:

To enable Prospects produce a Makaton sign-language pack for people with learning disabilities.  Can you imagine what it would be like if you couldn't understand speech? How would you cope?  Many adults in the UK face that problem every day. The Makaton sign-language pack will enable thousands of people with a learning disability to benefit.

Prospects international work in Romania. Casa Silvia (Silvia’s home) in Marghita in the Bihor Province, is home to 5 children with learning disabilities. It is one of the projects run by a Romanian Christian organisation called Fundatia Crestina Elim. Prospects role is to support them in their mission and work with people with learning disabilities. My wife Anna has recently spent 2 weeks at Casa Silvia as a volunteer, working with the children who have all come from local institutions.

You can help me to make a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities by sponsoring me for this event

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you for your support.
