Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

To my friends old and new. Those who knew Mum there's not much I need to say. As I'm not sure my words could do her memory justice. We could summarise it with a knowing smile and reminisce about her cooking. Zilda Maria always cooked portions for the guest who might show up and for that reason her table was seldom empty. Nothing would make her more happy than a well fed full house.

To those new in my life hopefully through myself and my sister you can get a feel for the kind of person she was. My aspiration is to live life with her kindness, enthuiasm and exuberance. She's certainly a hard act to follow but one of her favourite sayings was " O filho de peixe é um peixinho e..Which I think is pretty much the son of a fish is a little fish. So with that in mind I hope I can emulate her spirit and make her proud.

All these years later I still think of her with a smile. Her charm, charisma and energy left a big gap which will never be filled. She was always adamant of one thing , when she departed this place there should be no mourning. We sang and danced to a samba band the day we said goodbye for the last time. She wanted it that way. Because "life is a celebration." she said.

She seemed to
Move everywhere
Dancing & laughter
Followed her
Like
   Leaves
         On
            The
               Wind.

One thing which was a constant through treatment, remission and specialist care was the Macmillan Cancer Support and for that reason I'd like to raise as much money as possible for them.
