David's Personal Message
Thank you for reading my fund raising page. I am doing the London Marathon hopefully to raise some money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation in memory of my dad, Michael Connolly, who prior to his untimely death in 2005 received the best of care from the Ribblesdale Unit (which is part of Rosemere), and the support our family received was fantastic in our hour of need. We are forever grateful to the staff of the Ribblesdale Unit and everyone connected to them. We want to give something back so Forrest Gump aka me is running the London Marathon. This is my first and probably only ever marathon, the training has started, I have got all of the motivation needed, I just wish that I had the legs of someone half my age. Personally I did not realise how much cancer has touched many of my friends and their families as this was my first close contact with the disease and its devastating sudden impact on my family. Finally, before you all fall asleep I would like to thank my mum for helping to organise this, and for being so strong and looking after us all. We really hope friends and colleagues of Michael will feel able to dig deep for a very worthy cause in his memory and to help other families and patients benefit from the great work that the Rosemere Cancer Foundation does. Thanks David Connolly
