Each summer, when I visit my house in the South of France with my family, we see very little of the true France as we are either flying over it or rushing through it on the motorway.

This summer, I have decided to take things more leisurely, by cycling all the way – over 600 miles in 10 days – accompanied by my son-in-law, Oliver, my 18-year old son, Luke, and his friend, Tom.

To make the whole venture more worthwhile, we have decided to try to raise at least £3000 between us for the Rose Road “Change my Life” appeal.
