Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. They rely on voluntary donations for 99% of their income, so they simply couldn't do what they do without your help.
Having witnessed the outstanding support that MacMillan provide, we (Jason and Tony) are running the 26 mile Edinburgh Marathon on 23rd May 2010. The care, support and shoulder to cry on that they have provided for our whole family during the treatment that my Uncle, David, has been receiving over the past year has been nothing short of fantastic. Whether it be the first-hand support that nurses such as Paula have provided; listening, offering advice and guidance and generally being a positive light when you're in your darkest place. Or the help and advice given when filling in forms, or coping with administration - basically the kind of things that you have to think about when going through this terrible experience but really can't bring yourself to face. MacMillan have been there for us at every step of the way. We desperately want to give something back. We've spent the past 6 months or so training to be able to complete this long-distance run and really need your pledges of support to make sure it's been worthwhile. Our target is to raise £1000 but the more the better. Please help us by donating today.
