Summer finally approaches and the Landaus have decided it's time to stretch our legs and do some worthwhile exercise. On Sunday 21 June 2009, Dalia, Alex and David will all be cycling 10 miles off road through the Hertfordshire countryside and woodland in aid of Norwood. Having warmed up, a week later on Sunday 28 June, Alex and David will be cycling 30 miles from Haywards Heath to Hove as part of the Capital to Coast Charity Bike Ride. Unfortunately the ride won’t all be easy going – cycling across the ‘Downs’ is a bit of a misnomer… more "ups" than "downs" !! Nevertheless, subject to the weather, it will be a fantastic experience as well as a being a challenge.
Of course, we are not just doing this for the beautiful English scenery, winding country lanes and bracing sea air… we are also raising funds for a number of charities supported by Capital to Coast, including Norwood, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and Down’s Syndrome Association. All these charities help children and adults with learning and physical disabilities and, we hope you will agree, are all worthy causes.
