Story
My name is David Lewis (for those who dont know me!) and this August I will be taking on the challenge of a lifetime for the benefit of disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West of England.
My challenge is to cycle the 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 10 days, quite an effort but hopefully acheivable with enough training !!
My aim is to raise £10,000+ which will enable 20 children to experience a fun filled holiday at the wonderful Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
Based within 10 acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) is a haven for hundreds of disabled and disadvantaged children. Their aim is to provide ‘special holidays for special children’. Groups of children (average age 4-14) and their carers will visit ‘the Farm’ for a free weeklong holiday.
All children visiting CAFT are at a disadvantage compared to other children. They may be chronically sick, terminally ill, sensory impaired, physically disabled, learning disabled, abused or living in areas of social deprivation.
They also feel privileged to welcome children who themselves act as carers for a family member, or have suffered a bereavement.
CAFT receives no government funding and relies totally on charitable donations to raise the £800,000 per year needed to run the facility
Please help in any which way you can to ensure that we bring a little more happiness to some very needy children.
Any donation small or large will be of great help -
just follow the easy steps and please donate now
Many many thanks
David
P.S.I am also looking for a main Corporate Supporter who can advertise on my cycling gear and have their name mentioned on any publicity that I manage to secure. Please tell me if you know any companies that may be interested
.
